Summary of My Research

My research explores the concept of "transcendence" through a comparative study of John Macquarrie and Mou Zongsan. Macquarrie, a British theologian, examines the relationship between God and humanity within Christian theology and existentialism. Mou, a New Confucian philosopher, proposes "immanent transcendence" in his reinterpretation of Confucianism, influenced by Kantian thought. By analyzing their views, my study aims to develop a contextual understanding of divine transcendence in Chinese culture, highlighting intersections and divergences between Eastern and Western philosophical traditions. His research seeks to enrich both Confucian thought and contemporary theological discourse.
