Spirituality in Public Squares: Chinese and Western Perspectives

A public square is not an empty, value-neutral space stripped of religious conviction, but rather a dynamic forum packed with the deepest moral and spiritual commitments of diverse communities. The symposium aims to examine various forms of spirituality in public squares through theological reflection, contextual cultural engagement, and interdisciplinary dialogue with philosophy, psychology, sociology, the natural sciences, and related fields. By doing so, it is intended to illustrate the important link between various forms of spiritual and public life. Selected papers from the symposium will be considered for publication in an edited volume or special issue.
